Q: What experience do I need to apply?

We employ staff in a large number of roles, for many of these relevant experience is an advantage but not a must. A can-do attitude is a lot more important to us.

For some specific events we will require staff with more experience in certain roles.

Q: How old do I have to be to apply?

In order to apply you will have to be at least 18 years old on the first day of the event.

Q: What events can I work at?

Once you have been accepted for your first event you can register to work at any of our events that will be on our website. However, please take travel cost and distance into consideration. For some event, we provide coaches from cities in close proximity to the event.

Q: Do I have to pay a deposit to work at an event, as required by other event staffing companies?

Unlike many other event staffing companies we do not require you to pay a deposit for your wristband or pass in to the event. However, once a wristband or pass has been issued and you fail to attend work we reserve the right to prosecute for the price of entry into the event.

Q: How much do I get paid?

Pay varies per event. These will be confirmed in event email confirmation correspondence.

Provided you have given all required documentation (identification, bank details, national insurance number and any relevant visa documents) hap Solutions Group operate a fortnightly pay period.

We pay every other Friday, for shifts worked within the previous pay period.

Q: Why do I need a hap Solutions account?

In order to register for our events and book your place at some of the biggest events in the UK you must complete a hap Solutions account.

Q: Can I work with my friends?

We will try to keep friends together, however, we cannot guarantee that friends can work on the same bar, this could be because; event is too small, we don’t do the bar allocation, client requirements.

Q: How do I get a hap Solutions login?

Once you have registered you will be asked to supply a username (your email) and a password. This allows you to register for our events, check our future events, check travel times and pick up points, and keep up-to-date with any event information.

Event

Q: Do hap Solutions provide transport to and from the event?

Depending on the event, we may provide free staff transport from nearby major cities. The full details can be found on each event page on our website.

Q: Where do I stay at the event?

Festivals require staff to camp. Facilities can be basic; however, we always try to ensure that our staff have their own campsite containing toilets and showers. You will need a tent, sleeping bag and roll mat.

Q: Do hap Solutions provide camping equipment?

Tents, sleeping bags and roll mats must be brought by yourself as we do not provide them.

Q: What should I bring to the Festivals?

  • Tent, sleeping bag and roll mat
  • Plenty of warm clothes
  • Plastic bag for wet clothing
  • Black jumper or hoodie to wear underneath your bar T-shirt while you are working.
  • Black shoes or black trainers (closed toe)/wellies (any colour). Only this footwear will be permitted while working.
  • Wet wipes, toilet paper, towel and torch
  • NO GLASS OR BBQs are permitted in the staff campsite.

Q: Do hap Solutions provide food during the event?

  • hap Solutions are a temporary staffing provider, as such, you will be working under the direct control and supervision of our clients and their policies. The bar operator (our client) determines any policies with regards to staff feeding at any given assignment.
  • The food provision will be outlined in your confirmation email.
  • If you have specific dietary requirements, please bring plenty of your own food. Unfortunately, due to the festival environment, our clients cannot always cater for these.
  • Bring plenty of snacks
  • We recommend you bring a reusable plastic bottle for water.

Q: Can I cook my own food in the campsite?

BBQs or fires are not permitted in the staff camping area.

Q: Will I see my favourite band?

Although you get access to the event, you are there to work. Therefore, we cannot guarantee you will see specific bands or artists.

Q: What shifts will I be working?

We will confirm your shift times on arrival at the event. This can be subject to change during the event.

Q: Can I work with my friends?

Q: Is uniform provided?

Uniform will vary from event to event and this will be specified in your confirmation email for your event.

For example, if you are working at a festival our client may provide you with a bar t-shirt. We require you to wear this with black trousers, shorts or skirts, and a black top or hoodie to wear to wear underneath your bar t-shirt. Suitable footwear includes: shoes or trainers (black and must be closed toe) or wellies (any colour).

Q: Can I keep any tips I may receive?

hap Solutions Group are a temporary staffing provider, as such, you will be working under the direct control and supervision of our clients and their policies.

The bar operator (our client) determines any policies with regards to staff tips at any given assignment. For the majority of our clients, the bar operator either;

  • Collects the tips and donates to a specific named charity.
  • Collects the tips and donates between numerous charities.
  • Do not offer any form of tip scheme within their business.

Q: How do I get home, and how do I know when the bus leaves?

Q: When do I get paid?

Q: What if I have not provided all the required documentation?

You will not be paid until these are received. We will not actively chase employees for missing information. It is your responsibility to provide all documents as requested for payroll purposes.

Q: What if I have not provided my bank details?

We will not be able to pay you until these are received, as we will have no account details to pay. We will not actively chase employees for missing information. It is your responsibility to provide all documents as requested for payroll purposes.

Q: What do I do if I think my pay is incorrect?

You must check your pay slip as soon as you receive it, and if you think that an error has been made, please contact our payroll team via email on pay@hapgroup.co.uk.

Q: Do you cover my expenses to get to an event?

Under normal circumstances, we will not cover your travel expenses. Where possible, we will assist with transportation from designated cities. When this is provided it will be your responsibility to get to the main pick up and drop-off points at your own expense.

Q: How do I find out about other events?

Keep checking our website for future opportunities in your area. On some occasions we may also offer transport to various locations, which will be stated on our website.

Q: How do I request my P45 if I find another job or do not want to work with hap Solutions again?

You must email pay@hapgroup.co.uk with your employee number (found on your payslip) and your name, stating that you would like your P45 and the reason why. It will be emailed within 10-15 working days from the date your email is received.

Q: Does hap Solutions provide references?

We do not provide personal references. We will, however confirm dates of work and attendance/disciplinary records on request.
