As the first year with everything up and running again since the pandemic, summer 2022 held a lot of promise – and trust us when we say it did not disappoint!Â
Nothing gets our heart racing quite like being in a muddy field watching some of our favourite music artists light up the stage. And we’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of the hap team who worked so hard to make this possible.Â
Now, let’s take a look back at our most memorable summer yet…Â
We kicked things off in England…
Isle of Wight Festival: 16th June
The Isle of Wight Festival is one of the earliest in the season, and it always kicks things off with a fun theme to get everyone in the festival mood. This year’s was ‘Sirens & Sailors: The Life Aquatic’, and the hap team was there to make shore (sorry not sorry!) that everyone had the best start to summer.
All Points East Festival: 19th June
This year, All Points East made up for lost time with two weekends of live music and entertainment – along with fun activities to get involved with during the week. We headed to Victoria Park to ensure everything went smoothly.
Reading and Leeds Festivals: 26th August
We rocked out at both Reading and Leeds 2022. These festivals are unique in that they share the same lineup but the artists play on different days, so you get to see your favourite acts no matter whether you’re down south or up north.
Creamfields Festival: 25th August
The Creamfields atmosphere was electric as per – with a complete spectrum of dance tunes to get everyone grooving. This year marked the 25th anniversary of this iconic event, and we were honoured to help them celebrate – and celebrate we did!Â
…and ended the season in Scotland and Ireland
TRNSMT Festival: 8th JulyÂ
As one of the very festivals hap partnered with, TRNSMT Festival holds a special place in our hearts. We returned to Glasgow Green to keep punters refreshed as they got down to the likes of The Strokes, Sam Fender, and Paolo Nutini – and of course our staff took a break for their fave artists!
Connect Music Festival: 26th August
We rounded off our time in bonnie Scotland by heading to the Royal Highland Centre showgrounds for Connect Music Festival, which combines local and global music artists (this year featured the likes of The Chemical Brothers and IDLES) with comedy, spoken word, and the visual arts as well as some delicious Scottish food and drink. One of the perks of the job!
Electric Picnic: 2nd September
Electric Picnic marks one of the final events in the festival calendar – and you better believe we made it count! We’ve spent this past year expanding our reach across Ireland, so we were pleased to open up some new temp opportunities, meet fresh faces, and show the Emerald Isle how we make things happen.
…and that’s just a small snapshot of hap’s summer 2022. In total, we were on the ground at more than 200 festivals and events! Pretty impressive, right?
So, what’s next?
We’re already prepping for summer 2023, but if you want to get in on the hap action right away, we’ve got plenty of opportunities coming up for you to get involved with over the autumn/winter season.
With us, you can work big dates like Oktoberfest, or catch your favourite music artists or sports teams on a stadium shift. We’ve also got a range of hospitality positions available in hotels, bars and restaurants – from waiting and bar staff to chefs and kitchen teams, hosts and other front-of-house roles, and even housekeeping, cleaning, and night porters.Â
